  • #GirlSafe Campaign 2017 The iSchool Press Team in partnership with The United States Mission to South Africa hosted the #GirlSafe Media Change Makers Expo on 30 November 2017. With over 130 young people gathered from across South Africa, the day was part of #GirlSafe campaign for 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence. The event was made possible through a grant to the iSchool Press Team and part of ongoing U.S. partnerships with South African government and local organizations. The project addresses the socio-economic challenges that make young women in South Africa vulnerable to contracting HIV. Funding is provided by the U.S. Embassy in Pretoria and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).   • Good news makes us happy iSchool Press Team always strives to inspire our teams and every so often we receive great feedback from our team members. Busi Beje joined the Germiston High iSchool Press Team in 2011 and we recently received this great message from her. “My name is Busisiwe Beje. I am currently in my third year at the University of Pretoria studying Education. I matriculated at Germiston High School in 2013. In 2011 while doing my grade 10 I joined the Germiston High School Youth Press Team which was in association with iSchool Africa. In my time there I definitely grew as a person because of the workshops that we attended at Vega and other places.
